I really enjoyed the food here, the service was good and it was priced well. I came with three other people, and we all liked our meals. It’s a small place, but it’s sort of nice in that way! It’s definitely worth checking out if you want sushi.

Small place with attentive and friendly service. I would say the food standard is above average for the price and location. If you are used to the standard of sushi in parts of Asia near Japan inclusive however, you might find the price hard to stomach.

Quite disappointed considering all the other reviews. Fish was ok to good. Rice was cold and wrong consistency. You can do much better at this range.

It’s really a delicious place. The service is very good. The place it’s a little bit tight but I thinks it’s part of the experience. I really recommend it to you. The price it’s fine for what you get. Fully recommend the gyozas!

Very good! Small in seating space, perhaps 18 @ most but great service. All great things come in a small package. I would definitely recommend and visit again. I had the yellow tail among other dishes and not disappointed at all.

Finest place to grab some food when in a rush. Their service is prompt, pricing is convenient, great character. I highly recommend this spot.

Arrived at the perfect time to get seated. The service was great. The sashimi delicious. It’s a very intimate space so large groups might not fit

So delighted to have found Akiko's during my recent trip to San Francisco. The standard of food, presentation and quality is 2nd to none. The dishes are more authentic Japanese than 'Californian' and this is a great thing. Experience was so good that I went back a 2nd time! Well worth going out of your way for!

The place offers a vast range of delicious food. I enjoyed eating here. Staff members are always helpful, rates are reasonable and the place is always clean.

Good food, nice place. A few things to know:- everyone (including myself) were tourists. No locals going there- the place is quite small, no more than 20 people fit in. - the prices from google are really outdated. Real prices are +50% higher than those published in google.

This was simply the best sushi of my life. I’ve never tasted fresher fish. I used to not be crazy about raw fish and now I understand suddenly why everyone is crazy about it because it tastes so delicious when done right. The service was excellent, the server made recommendations on some of the best dishes to try, the service was also very fast and friendly. Make a reservation, as it is a small place that fills up very quickly.

Best sushi in town! Trust me it's worth the wait here. Due sit at the bar to experience the true sushi eating adventure. I always judge how genuine a sushi rest is by the chef's behind the sushi bar. Sushi Gen have all Japanese chef's cutting the sushi. Can't go with their Toro, blue fin, Albacore and Red snapper are must order here. Also try their fried crabs and oysters. Great service and price is a reasonable for its quality they serve here

This spot obviously knows how to treat their clients. Always with a very nice demeanor. The food is reasonably priced, always fresh and clean.

Super fresh and tasty sushi. Cozy little shop with only a few tables, which adds to the vibe. Creative and consistent food. I love this place

My favorite sushi place in SF! Small cosy restaurant. Reservation required. Impeccable service, very welcoming staff. Creative and delicious food, good wine list. Fair prices.

Akiko's Sushi Bar is to me the best sushi bar in San Francisco. This is a cozy little place where you are always welcome by the friendly waiters. Ths sushi are of course fresh with a great selection of seafood and fish, a pleasure for the mouth, to enjoy these subtle oriental flavors. And of course with a bottle of atsukan (hot sake).

The best sushi I have had . The fish quality was nice and tasty for the fair price . I will definitely visit as often as I can .

The staff is wonderful and all around kind to its patrons. The food of this small restaurant tucked away in the streets of sanfransico are one of a kind. I recommend the uni and the ahi tuna. Both are delicious and served in a beautiful display

Tiny sushi place with high quality fish and great service. 3 tables and a few bar seats. The Hawaiian fish roll was my favorite

Incredible sushi and wonderful service. We started with the fresh Japanese oysters appetizer was amazing. My friend ordered the Toro sampler was super fresh and delicious. And then I had a couple rolls for Angle island roll scallops special rolls they are all so good . I can say the best sushi I never had . The quality of fish here is amazing. I can’t believe we found this wonderful gem !

So not the most exquisite location or setting BUT great Sushi and Nigri. Super fresh, great cuts and nice presentation. If you like sushi, go here!

Super intimate! Literally 4 tables with 3 seats at the bar. That’s what I loved about it. Quick service. Absolutely delicious! Their cucumber and seaweed salad was so full of flavor! Unforgettable👌ðŸ½

High quality sushi. Very very small space. One waitress for the whole place and when it gets busy, service can really slow down. But the food is excellent and worth the wait

Always delightful. Service was great again. Thanks Teresa. Sushi is always fresh. We had the chef sashimi choice this time and we were not disappointed. We will be back soon for more.

Small spot but worth the wait. Excellent, creative and well considered sushi. Two or three tiers above the tourist fare in this area

Small japanese restaurant but their food are really good. Got a seat without reserve, and ordered unagi for my dinner.

Very small cozy place with delicious sushi. The sushi came out pretty quickly and straight from the chef. The Lizzy roll which has a little slice of lemon has a very interesting taste.

Akiko is a very little cozy place. The owner carefully deliver a magnificent service throughout our lunch. The sushi tasted so good.

This is a small sushi restaurant with very few tables. The sushi is excellent! I would highly recommend the double star roll.

Excellent location for delicious Japanese food. Super savory. I'll return family next time. This place has an awesome atmosphere.

I read that this was one of the top sushi restaurants in SF and was not disappointed! The fish is fresh, service is good and prices are reasonable. I also had the vanilla crepe desert which was great. There aren’t that many tables, so should expect the possibility of a wait.

Nice ambience and very attentive service. The meals were fresh and enchanting. Will easily recommend this restaurant to others. Affordable prices and generous portions. Good job.

Best sushi I have ever had. I loved my teriyaki beef so much that I ventured to try my husband's spicy salmon sushi. Firstly, I do not ever eat raw sushi becauseit is usuallya bad texture where I'm from. This was so delicious, not mushy, just perfect. The teriyaki dish was tender, perfectly seasoned, and just the right size.

The food is constantly fresh and yummy, employees hands over good service. I like the cleanliness and character. Keep up the good work.

Great experience, and reasonable price for omakase 😆ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

We were lucky to wait only 5 minutes, the place was really small, smaller than typical takeout restaurants, so most had to wait for a good long while before a table was available. But the food was super good, the best sushi restaurant we've been to. The fish was super fresh, and service was very good. I'm glad we were just visiting cause if i lived here I surely would spend all my salary in this restaurant.

We had an awesome experience at this spot. We enjoyed the amazing atmosphere and the menu. The staff are very personal. I am glad we eventually decided to eat here.

Excellent friendly service. Awesome miso and udon - both were tasty, not too salty, and udon felt healthy with all these lightly boiled or steamed vegetables. I wasn't a fan of fish to rice ratio in sushi here though. I've eaten in sushi bars where there was more fish on a nigiri. The fish was very good though.

We had an excellent time at this spot. We enjoyed the awesome atmosphere and the food. The staff members are very friendly. I’m content we finally decided to eat here.
MASSIMO SAMMITO
Very expensive. I mean really. But also one of the est sushi of my entire life. The place is very small and not really confortable. Ideal for singles or couple not for big groups.

This little spot close to Union square was a great find. This small intimate atmosphere makes you feel like the sushi chef is preparing your food in your own personal kitchen. The fish was extremely fresh and beautifully prepared.
Kristoffer Nesbak
Wow! Excellent sushi and very friendly staff. The place is really small with only 4 tables and a small bar and it seems very popular as well. They take reservations. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I had the 10 piece combo with miso soup, 8 rolls, large beer and an appetiser, and it was around 50 bucks. Really, really good sushi!

Quant and intimate, Akiko’s offers good quality with a feeling you’re being served in a family’s home. The rice was great (which was important to us in sushi) and the fish quality was good. I had the nigiri and my wife ate a caterpillar roll. She rarely likes fish and goes for a vegetable roll but this was great! Fresh tasting.

This place has been great every time I visited. Love the freshly made wasabi and the specials!

Visiting San Fran and looked for sushi - went with Akiko’s because of online recommendations and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing service and best sushi I have ever had. Small and well appointed - a gem!!
